Online Overhead Crane Training

This online overhead crane training course has been developed by an I-CAB (International Competency Assessment Board) recognized content developer. Meaning the content in this course has been recognized for its expertise in the subject manner and is listed as a competency development resource for I-CAB assessment participants.

The online Overhead Crane Safety Training course from Leavitt Cranes is designed to provide operators with the knowledge they need to operate overhead cranes safely. Operators will learn about the different types of overhead crane accidents and the primary causes of dropped loads across 3 modules. This will enable them to recognize the signs of potential accidents and prevent them.

Our online overhead crane training course emphasizes the importance of following the manufacturer's instructions during inspections, pre-start inspections, and logbooks. Operators will learn how to properly spool wire rope on hoist drums, inspect wire ropes, end attachments, hoist blocks, equalizer sheaves, and hoist drums, and test high and low limit switches, controls for proper operation, and hoist brakes.

Testing on this online overhead training course is designed to reinforce the information presented. Participants must receive a mark of 70% or higher in order to receive a certificate. If the pass mark is not achieved, participants may repeat the course twice. Print materials that further reinforce the information in this course can be accessed online.
