The wind turbine crane series from Kroll is a powerful tower crane that can provide a serious benefit to your worksite. From saving time to cutting down on transport costs, the Kroll wind turbine crane line up is the next step in maximizing your productivity and efficiency as a business. Check out our latest video that highlights some of these key features and benefits!
As seen in the video, we are going to highlight some of the key features and benefits to choosing Kroll for your next wind turbine crane project.
The video highlights the K1650L tower crane. This particular model has a maximum freestanding HUH (height under hook) of 179.5 m. This incredible height can be reached without having to tie-in to the turbine tower. Because of not having to tie-in, the overall capacity of the crane is not reduced, and you can lift the maximum capacity of 135 t.
The K1650L, featured in the video above, has fantastic operating wind speeds. You can work safely knowing that your loads will remain secure in the following wind conditions. If your load is under 60 metric tons, the crane will be able to withstand wind speeds of 20 m/s. If your load is over 60 metric tons, the crane will be able to withstand wind speeds of 15 m/s.
We understand that space can be tight on a jobsite. Thankfully these Kroll cranes can be erected either on an anchor embedment or on a cross base as small as 16m x 16m. This allows you to construct a smaller crane pad for the construction of both the crane and the turbine. A smaller footprint equals a smaller pad, which is what will help to save you some money!
Believe it or not, but this crane can be hook ready-to-hook ready in 34-36 hours. Please keep in mind that this time estimate is for cranes that have 130m HUB heights. This erection and dismantle time is shorter for shorter turbines.
The hoist winch of the K1650L operates in four parts of line. This greatly reduces the hoisting speed of various components. You’ll get to enjoy maximum hoisting speeds between 6 m/min and 21 m/min depending on the capacity of your crane and how much you are lifting.
This is another benefit that will help to save you both time and money. Not only is the crane easy to breakdown and transport, but it can be done so in fewer loads. When looking at a comparable sized crane, the K1650L only requires loads of 45-53 trucks! This is less than comparison models which will save you time and money with every less truck in transport. Please keep in mind that the number of trucks required may fluctuate depending on the overall HUH of your crane.
There you have it! It’s no wonder why the demand for these wind turbine cranes is increasing so drastically.
